ASHLAND, Ohio (November 7, 2015) — A former Ohio teacher accused of secretly recording kindergarten students using the bathroom could face a lengthy prison sentence after pleading no contest.

Elliot Gornall entered pleas last week in Ashland County and was found guilty on 181 counts, most for illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.

Authorities say he recorded about two dozen students using a tiny camera installed in a bathroom next to his classroom in Loudonville.

Gornall denied the charges and argued images were improperly found on his computer. A judge refused to suppress that evidence. The Mansfield News Journal reports Gornall plans to appeal that decision.

The prosecutor says Gornall pleaded no contest to allow for that appeal and that it wasn’t a plea deal.

The 33-year-old is scheduled for sentencing Dec. 28.
