INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Two people were shot–one fatally–on the northeast side of Indianapolis Thursday afternoon.
Dispatchers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the shooting happened around 1:40 p.m. in the 6100 block of East 40th Street.
Two people were shot. One of the victims, 23-year-old Terrance Parham, died at the scene while the other was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition. The injured victim was identified as Chavieon Gray, 20. Gray had been shot in the face.
Officers on the scene were made aware of a third person involved in the incident who had fled the area. Charles Archery, 29, was located and arrested in connection with the shooting.
He faces preliminary charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
