Police car damaged during hit-and-run on near northeast side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 21, 2015) — One person is in custody following a short police pursuit and hit-and-run on the near northeast side of Indianapolis. The chase happened at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

IMPD dispatch said a 48-year-old man hit a police car then took off near the intersection of 25th Street and Sherman Drive. Police were able to catch up to the suspect just a couple blocks away.

While police were arresting the driver, the passenger of the suspect vehicle slid over and took off with the car.

The suspect in the hit-and-run is now in custody. At this time, the vehicle and second suspect are still at large. No injuries are being reported.
