PLAINFIELD, Ind. (Nov. 27, 2015)-- One person is confirmed dead after a fire at a Plainfield senior living facility.

The fire started around 7:30 a.m. in the building in the 200 block of Mill Run Drive.

Officials say the fire started on the third floor of the building. Fire officials say the fire was mostly contained to one apartment, where the fire originated.  One occupant of the apartment was pronounced deceased. Two others were transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Firefighters evacuated residents from the second and third floors of the building. Some of the residents had to be carried out of the center by firefighters.

Red Cross is assisting displaced residents.

The cause of fire appears to be accidental, said Plainfield Fire officials.
