INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 30, 2015)— An Indianapolis car dealership president is being recognized for his business performance and service in the community after being nominated for the TIME Dealer of the Year award.

Jeff Wood, president of Tom Wood Automotive Group, was one of 50 dealers selected from 16,000 nationwide to be nominated for the award, which will be announced at the 99th National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) conference on April 1, 2016 in Las Vegas.

“I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to carry on a successful family business and tradition, and I’m proud that my father believed in me enough to entrust me with it,” nominee Wood said. “I hope to pass the baton to the next generation. I truly feel blessed to be a part of this great business.”

“I feel that we have left a legacy and a positive mark on the community, employing 1,000 individuals with quality jobs,” Wood said. “We have shown that we truly care about our employees and back that up with recognition, rewards and benefits. We try our best within the community to be fair and loyal to our customers and to those outside of that realm who have benefited from our contributions through Tom Wood Cares.”

The TIME Dealer of the Year award honors new-car U.S. dealers who show strong performance in their dealerships and perform distinguished community service.

Wood’s initiative Tom Wood Cares donates part of their car sales to a charity chosen by the customer from a list of organizations, including Riley Children’s Foundation, Starfish Initiative, SNSI, American Lung Association of Indiana, American Cancer Society, Angels & Doves, Samaritan’s Feet, Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis and more.

Each nominee of the TIME Deal of the Year award will receive $1,000 to donate to a charity of their choice. Wood has selected Starfish Initiative, an organization that prepares and inspires economically disadvantaged students for college and career success, to receive the donation.
