Police search for Lafayette woman after man stabbed during fight

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Dec. 15, 2015)— Officers with the Lafayette Police Department are looking for a woman in connection with a stabbing Monday afternoon.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex on 16th Street around 1:40 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from minor stab wounds to his left forearm and left thigh. According to preliminary investigation, police say the man’s girlfriend, Taneshia Verner, grabbed a nearby knife and attacked him during an altercation.

The man was transported to St. Elizabeth East Hospital to be treated for his wounds.

Verner fled the residence before police arrived and has not been located at this time. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts or about the incident, should contact Lafayette Police at 1-800-78-CRIME.
