INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 15, 2015) – The city’s first full-service downtown YMCA is now open. There was an official ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday morning at the YMCA at CityWay.

The $24 million dollar building has three floors, three basketball courts, two indoor pools, along with an elevated running track and more than 100 pieces of cardio equipment. There’s also a few things you might not expect – like a vertical garden and a “Teaching Kitchen” for healthy cooking classes.

YMCA leaders say you can also check-out some unique group fitness options as well.

“Budokai is a martial arts infused class that’s a cardio workout and a strength workout, so classes like that are really something new – we have hip-hop cycle, another one called “Pound” where you’re using drum sticks in your workout,” Associate Executive Director said Sean Reaves.

The YMCA at CityWay offers more than 80 hours of group classes every week. If you want to fuel-up post work-out “Hoaglin to go Café” is also open on the first floor inside.
