INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 16, 2015)—The jury trial for the father of a baby who went missing last August will begin in April.
Willie Wilson was charged in February with murder in connection with the death of 6-week-old Delano Wilson, who was reported missing on August 27, 2014.
Wilson called police, claiming an armed person abducted his baby while he was walking in an alley near his house. However, surveillance video showed Wilson walking alone just one minute before he called 911. Investigators also found Wilson used his phone to search the Internet for sites related to abducted children.
Court documents show 24 different internet searches the morning before the baby was reported missing.
Police said they also found possible traces of human blood in the bathroom sink, bathtub and on a light blue baby blanket. However, prosecutors could not say if the blood matched the baby’s DNA.
Baby Delano’s body was never found.
Wilson’s trial will begin April 25, 2016.
