Police find missing 15-year-old boy with autism who ran away from south side YMCA

UPDATE: Police have safely located the 15-year-old boy, and he is now back home with his family. His name has been retracted from this story since he is a juvenile.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 16, 2015)– Indianapolis police are searching for a missing 15-year-old child who is diagnosed with autism.

Police responded to the YMCA at 7900 South Shelby Street Wednesday night around 6 p.m. on a report of a missing child.

Officers spoke with a counselor who said the teen became angry and ran northbound from the YMCA.

He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt which says “Flashes,” black Nike shoes and a red backpack. He is approximately 5’1″ and weighs 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
