Indianapolis Public Schools to serve free breakfast and lunch during winter break

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 22, 2015) – Indianapolis Public Schools will serve free breakfast and lunch at select sites to students when school is out during winter break.

The district's  foodservice staff will offer lunch at eight schools and breakfast at one site Monday through Wednesday each week.

All IPS students are invited to enjoy free meals provided as an extension of the USDA's Summer Food Service Program.

"We understand that having the opportunity to enjoy lunch and is some cases breakfast free of charge is a great help our families, especially around the holidays when you have so many other expenses and stuff you're taking care of," said Kristin Cutler, IPS media relations coordinator.
