The second half of the weekend looks dry and milder. In the week ahead, temperatures will run 10 to 20 degrees above seasonal norms with plenty of rain chances. We should get a break from the showers Thursday and Friday.
It was a gorgeous, but chilly Saturday with wall to wall sunshine and temperatures parked in the 20's and 30's. Seasonal norms for this date are a low temperature of 24 degrees and a high of 38.
Pile the blankets on the bed, clear and cold conditions continue overnight with plenty of stars. By 7:30 pm it had already dropped to 28 degrees in the Circle City.
After a cold start, the second half of the weekend should be warmer, but not as bright.
A few clouds will drift in on southerly winds gusting to 25 mph at times. These winds will help to push afternoon temperatures into the upper 40's.
Rain arrives early Monday morning. Up to 1/2" of rain is possible in some areas of Central Indiana. Additional waves will bring rain chances late Tuesday and all day Wednesday. Wednesday's showers may include Thunder.
We should get a break from the showers Thursday and Friday. At this point, Thursday looks dry after morning showers. Rain should not start up again until Christmas night.
Winter officially begins at 11:48 pm Monday with the winter solstice.
Wishing you and yours a safe and Happy Holiday Season!
