Man arrested in connection with fatal October hit-and-run crash
Austin Warren was sentenced to 6 years at the Department of Correction on two counts of failure to remain at the scene of an accident resulting in death. He’ll receive 220 days credit for time served.
WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (Dec. 21, 2015) – Police in White County arrested a man in connection with an October hit-and-run crash that killed two people.
On Monday morning, Austin D. Warren, 22, Logansport, was arrested on two counts of failure to remain at the scene of an accident resulting in death. Police said Austin was involved in a crash on Oct. 11, 2015, at State Road 16 and County Road 1100 East in White County that killed Debrah Barkas, 48, and Hanna Ohrt, 13, both from Idaville.
Investigators said Warren left the scene of the fatal crash in his pickup truck before emergency responders arrived at the scene. He was taken to the White County Jail after his arrest Monday.
