INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 30, 2015)– An Indianapolis man was arrested Monday after allegedly attempting to flee from troopers during a traffic stop.

On December 28 around 10:30 p.m., An Indiana State Trooper and a field training officer saw a car with the headlights turned off on Shelby Street, near Berwyn Street.

As the trooper attempted to pull the car over, it sped off, sideswiping a parked car disregarding stop signs. Police say the car eventually stopped in the 1000 block of East Albany Street.

The driver, Joshua Finch, 21, of Indianapolis and a woman in the front passenger seat were removed from the car. Finch was wanted on a Morgan County warrant for child molestation. He was also wanted in Marion County for failure to register as a sex offender.

A loaded handgun was found under the passenger seat.

Finch was arrested on the charges in the two warrants. He also faces charges of resisting law enforcement and possessing a firearm as a felon.

The woman in the passenger seat was released at the scene.
