Coroner identifies man fatally shot on Indianapolis north side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 8, 2016)– Police say a man was shot and killed Friday evening on the north side of Indianapolis.

Officers were called to the 4800 block Primrose Avenue, near East 49th Street, around 6:30 p.m. on a report of a person shot.

Police found the victim, later identified as Christopher Carlson, 50, in an alley east of  Primrose Ave., suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two small children, who investigators believe to be the victim’s children, were not hurt and are being cared for by IMPD’s Victim Assistance Unit.

No suspect information has been released.
