(Jan. 8, 2016) — Drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has been captured, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto announced Friday via Twitter.

Guzman made international headlines over the summer when he made a daring escape from a maximum-security prison west of Mexico City. The drug cartel leader stepped into a shower, crawled through a hole and escaped through a mile-long tunnel, setting off a manhunt.

It wasn’t his first prison break, either. In 2001, he hid in a laundry cart and managed to get free. Authorities didn’t catch him for 13 years. When they did find him, he was at a Mexican beach resort.

Authorities haven’t released any additional details about his most recent capture.
