Police: Forklift used to steal ATM on east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 8, 2016)– Police are searching for thieves who committed one crime in order to pull off another.

IMPD says a forklift was used to steal an ATM early Thursday morning at Kemba Credit Union, located at on Shortridge Road on the east side.

An officer searched the area and located the forklift just south of English Avenue. It had been stolen from a construction site in the 7600 block of Brookville Road.

It was owned by Sunbelt Rentals and was being used by Perry Building Contractors.

The ATM was not located.
