SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CA.  (January 15, 2016) — One of television’s most beloved  icons from the 1970’s has died. Dan Haggerty, who played Grizzly Adams in the TV series, died early Friday morning from cancer.

Haggerty starred in the 1977 hit TV show “The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams” as the lovable mountain man whose best friend and companion was a grizzly bear. The show was short-lived, lasting only for two seasons with 38 episodes.   After Grizzly Adams ended, Haggerty went on to guest star on several TV shows like “CHiPs” and “Charlie’s Angels.

Haggerty was 74.
