DANVILLE, Ind. (Jan. 20, 2016)– The Danville Police Department has a new chief.

William Wright was demoted Tuesday to sergeant and assistant police chief in an executive meeting.

Officials at the meeting said Wright was not meeting their standards and lacked improvement.

Jim Hilton will be the new interim chief as the department looks for someone to fill the position permanently.
