Wendy’s sick social media burn leaves Burger King with grill marks

(Jan. 25, 2016) – Some friendly Twitter sparring between Burger King and Wendy’s took a decidedly unexpected turn that left one of the fast-food chains with some serious grill marks.

This started a few days ago when Wendy’s touted its “4 for $4” deal, which includes a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, fries, four chicken nuggets and a drink.

Fair enough, right? The tweet got the attention of Burger King, which offers a similar deal. BK’s “5 for $4” includes a bacon cheeseburger, fries, four chicken nuggets, a drink and a cookie. So Burger King’s social media team hit back.

Seems like a reasonable response between a couple friendly rivals, right?

Then Wendy’s took things up a notch with this tweet to a customer that left Burger King flame-broiled:
