Power restored after outage left hundreds without electricity in Zionsville, high school on 2-hour delay

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (Feb. 2, 2016) – At its height, a power outage Tuesday morning left more than 1,700 Zionsville customers without power.

Zionsville High School went on a two-hour delay as a result of the outage.

According to Lew Middleton from Duke Energy, the outage started around 7 a.m. A piece of equipment failed inside a substation, causing a loud explosion. Crews had restored power by 8:10 a.m.
