Police: Armed robbery led to pursuit, crash on west side; 3 injured

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 22, 2016)– Three people were hospitalized Monday after a police pursuit on the west side, according to the Wayne Township Fire Department.

Police say a 13-year-old boy was robbed at the Taco Bell located at Washington Street and Lynhurst Drive. A vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ car was spotted and police followed it.

Near Rockville Road and Lynhurst Drive, the suspect vehicle took off. It hit a pole and sign before stopping near Rockville Road and South Vine Street.

Three people were taken to Eskenazi health. Two were listed in serious condition, the other person suffered a minor injury. None of the injuries are life-threatening, police said.

The 13-year-old robbery victim was not injured.

Police say a gun found inside the vehicle matched the description of the weapon used in the robbery. The suspects allegedly took the boy’s back pack and tennis shoes.
