Colts waive former Ball State linebacker Jonathan Newsome

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 22, 2016) – The Colts waived outside linebacker Jonathan Newsome Monday morning and also released outside linebacker Andy Studebaker.

Newsome was arrested for possession of marijuana on February 17. The former Ball State Cardinal took to Twitter to thank the organization for his time.

Newsome was a fifth round draft pick of Indianapolis in the 2014 NFL Draft. He started three games for the team over the past two years while playing in 30 games. He recorded 61 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

Studebaker signed with the Colts as a free agent last December.
