BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Feb. 26, 2016)-- An Indiana University student won $25,000 by hitting some buckets.

The Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity was hosting their annual "Ball at the Hall" philanthropy event this week at Assembly Hall. The 3-on-3 basketball tournament benefits the Lauri Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss.

The members of the final two teams (out of 60 ) each had a chance to win $25,000 towards tuition by making a layup, free throw, three pointer and a half-court shot within 24 seconds.

Jake Newlander, a junior from Skokie, Illinois, hit the shots with practically no time to spare!

Scott Bauer, founder of the Lauri Bauer Foundation, said Newlander made his parents very happy.
