Stolen vehicle investigation in Bartholomew County leads to OWI arrest

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (February 29, 2016) – A stolen vehicle investigation in Bartholomew County ended in an OWI arrest.

Bartholomew County sheriff deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Sunday around 6:15 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 625 South.

Upon arrival, one of the deputies saw a white passenger car in the driveway of the home. The vehicle then turned into the yard of a neighbor.

A deputy stopped the vehicle and, while speaking to the driver, the deputy noticed a strong odor of alcohol.

The driver, later identified as Kainen Joe Carr, 27, of Hope, Indiana was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Carr was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail and has since been released on $2,500.00 bond.
