Coroner identifies east side fatal shooting victim

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 4, 2016)– Police say a man is dead after a shooting on the east side of Indianapolis.

Officers responded to the 700 block of North Grant Avenue around 5:20 p.m. on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found a male victim, later identified as Dejuan Williams, 37, inside a residence suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite the best life-saving efforts of EMS personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased while at the scene.

Detectives are canvassing the area for additional information and have not yet released any reliable suspect information.
