Police identify victim in far east side fatal shooting

UPDATE (March. 11, 2016)– Police identified the victim in this shooting as Ramon Carver, 26, of Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 10, 2016) – A 26-year-old man died following a shooting on the east side Thursday night.

The incident occurred in the 3000 block of Bavarian East Drive near the intersection of East 30th Street and North Mitthoeffer Road around 9:45 p.m.

According to police, the man was shot in the Bavarian Village Apartments. Police found him in the backseat of a car suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe the man was shot at another location at the apartment complex and then ran to the car. Police said they have several leads in connection with the shooting. Additional officers were dispatched to the scene to help manage the crime scene.
