45-year-old man in serious condition after shooting; suspects questioned

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 12, 2016)– Metro police are investigating a shooting that left one man seriously injured on the near southeast side of Indianapolis Saturday evening.

Police and paramedics were called to the 1400 block of Lawton Avenue shortly before 9 p.m.  on a report of a person shot.

When they arrived, they found a 45-year-old man lying outside on some steps with a single gunshot wound to his upper thigh.

He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.

During this time, officers were told the possible suspects were in a house down the street.

Police were able to track down the suspects. Two suspects were transported to the Aggravated Assault office to be interviewed by detectives.
