BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (March 13, 2016) –
After being knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament early, the Hoosiers focus has shifted to the big dance.
On Selection Sunday Indiana was given a 5 seed and will play in East Regional on Sunday, facing Chattanooga in Des Moines, Iowa. If the Hoosiers win and advance and the number 4 seed Kentucky Wildcats defeat Stony Brook, Indiana and the Wildcats would play one another in the following round.
“We’re really excited,” Yogi Ferrell told the media Sunday night. “This is another opportunity for us to go out and showcase what we’ve done all year, and felt pretty happy with where we were picked.”
The Hoosiers know a limited amount about Chattanooga, but will certainly know more in the coming hours.
“They’re a talented team,” senior Max Biefeldt said. “They beat Dayton, at Georgia, at Illinois. They’re definitely not going to get overlooked at all. You can’t at this point of the year.”
“Chattanooga is battle tested,” Tom Crean said Sunday evening. “When a team wins in the league like they did, you have respect for that.”
The Hoosiers and Chattanooga will tip off at 7:10 PM on CBS in Des Moines, Iowa.
