SEYMOUR, Ind. (March 14, 2016) – The Cummins Seymour Technical Center remained closed Monday as employees returned to work following last week’s murder-suicide involving employees.

Cummins spokesman Jon Mills said the center wouldn’t reopen until March 21 at the earliest. Mills said employees would “get back to work at their own pace and at different locations” at the Seymour plant.

The plant itself resumed production Monday. It shut down Thursday after police said Qing Chen, 37, fatally shot his supervisor, Ward Edwards, 49, before killing himself.

The Seymour plant was evacuated after the shooting, which was reported around 8:40 a.m. on Thursday.
