(March 14, 2016) – After a very long wait, a North Carolina boy finally received the heart he so desperately needed.
Albert Jeffries IV was born with a debilitating heart disease called dilated cardiomyopathy. “ALJ was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy when he was 4 months old,” his mom Tina Turner told FOX8. “His heart was barely squeezing. That was the beginning of our journey. The doctor said he wasn’t going to make it overnight. I was like – I know that there’s a God. He’s going to make it.”
The past 14 years of his life have been a roller coaster of hospital visits and heart testing, but recently he received the news that a heart was available for transplant.
His mom captured the moment on her phone, and the video will nearly bring you to tears!
