BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (March 31, 2016) – The Chocolate Moose in Bloomington will be demolished to make room for a four-story building, according to the Indiana Daily Student.

The Bloomington Historical Preservation Commission voted Thursday evening not to make the soft serve ice cream shop, located at 401 South Walnut Street, a historical landmark.

The demolition of the building doesn’t quite mean the end for The Chocolate Moose. The owner, Justin Loveless, says they will reopen in a new space.

Loveless says construction would take place from December 2016 to April 2017, during the time The Chocolate Moose is already closed for winter.
