Purdue’s Stephens gets release to explore transfer
INDIANAPOLIS (March 31, 2016) — Purdue’s Kendall Stephens has been granted his request to transfer, but he can still return to the Boilermakers.
Matt Painter will allow the junior to explore his options elsewhere, but the door remains open for a return to Purdue for his senior season.
“Kendall has asked for his release to explore the possibility of transferring, but he remains a member of our team and the door remains open for his return,” said Painter in a statement.
Stephens sank 38 3-pointers this past season and averaged 6.1 points in helping lead Purdue to a 26-9 overall record and a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
