INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 3, 2016)--Good Sunday afternoon! It was a beautiful day with sunshine; however, the winds were strong once again this afternoon. Expect gusts around 35 and 40 mph this evening as another low pressure tracks to our north. If you're heading out for the Final Four games tonight plan on the jackets as temperatures will be in the low 50s by 11 p.m. with strong winds.
A chance of rain will arrive in Indy after midnight as a cold front approaches from the north. The cold front looks to move through Lafayette and Kokomo between 4 and 5 a.m. and then through Indy between 7 and 8 a.m. Monday. We'll have a drop in temperatures and a chance of rain through at least 7 a.m. in the city. Rainfall amounts will be light and around a couple of hundredths inches. Isolated thunder is possible.
Some snow showers will be possible across eastern Indiana Monday evening.
Monday will bring a mostly cloudy sky with breezy northwest winds and highs near 50 degrees. This is more typical of mid-March. Tuesday will be sunny with temperatures in the morning once again below freezing and in the mid-20s. A Freeze Watch is in effect for Tuesday morning.
Another storm system will arrive Wednesday into Thursday and bring showers and thunderstorms. Wednesday and Thursday will both be breezy with highs in the low 60s Wednesday and low 50s Thursday. It will turn much colder by Friday with highs only in the low 40s and a chance of a rain/snow mix. --Danielle Dozier
