One man killed, another seriously injured in Franklin County shooting

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. (April 3, 2016) – Police are investigating a double shooting in Franklin County that resulted in the death of one man and serious injuries to a second man.

Around 7:50 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to St. Peters Road in Brookville on reports of possible shots fired.

When officers arrived on scene, they found one man who was fatally shot and another man suffering from gunshot wounds inside the residence. The initial responding officers provided first aid and secured the scene.

The victim who was pronounced dead at the scene has been identified by police as 55-year-old David A. Manz. The second man involved in the shooting, 60-year-old Thomas E. Logan, was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis to be treated for his gunshot wound.

Police believe both men lived at the residence where the shooting occurred, and no further suspects are being sought at this time.

An autopsy on Manz is scheduled for tomorrow in Hamilton County, Ohio.
