Woman tries to jump behind the steering wheel of IMPD patrol car

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 3, 2016)–An Indianapolis woman is under arrest after she tried to get behind the wheel of  an IMPD  police car, Sunday.

According to IMPD, around 6:15 .m.,  one of their officer’s was stopped in the 2800 block of East New York Street.

30-year-old Kelly Roberts of Indianapolis faces a variety of charges after she allegedly jumped into the police car and tried to gain access to the driver’s seat.

The officer reportedly had to forcefully remove the woman from the car and she resisted.

No injuries were reported in the scuffle.

Roberts was taken to the Arrestee Processing Center and faces charges of criminal trespass, resisting law enforcement, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.
