INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 5, 2016)– Bishop Chatard High School teacher Kyle Guyton died during the school’s spring break trip to Europe.

The school said in a Facebook post Guyton was a chaperone for the trip. During a meal in Krakow, Poland, he suffered an asthma attack and began to choke.

He aspirated into his lungs and died, despite emergency workers’ attempts to resuscitate him.

The school said Guyton joined the teaching staff as the theater director this year.

The high school’s chapel will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. – noon. Counselors will also be available.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

Donations are being collected here to help with funeral costs. Any additional money collected will go towards renovations in Guyton’s classroom and a plaque in his honor. After that, money will be put towards scholarships for students.
