DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (April 5, 2016)– Authorities in South Carolina are searching for the owner of a dog who was found with her head wrapped in duct tape.

An anonymous tip led Darlington County Sheriff’s deputies to the dog’s location, according to a Facebook post on their page. They found the dog with duct tape around its head and mouth, and were able to remove the tape safely.

The dog, nicknamed “Aurora,” was taken to a local animal shelter.

“Aurora was found wandering with her mouth taped SHUT! With tape around her head and mouth, someone let her loose to fend for herself! We are horrified!,” reads a post on the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue’s Facebook page. “Aurora is a sweet, gentle dane mix and she deserves better.”

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office at 843-398-4501 or 843-398-4920.
