Driver narrowly escapes fall from cliff, ends up getting hit by tour bus

MALIBU, Calif. (April 5, 2016) – A man who nearly drove off the side of a cliff escaped from his vehicle only to be hit by a passing tour bus, police said.

Deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station responded around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, where they found the man’s SUV teetering on the edge of a cliff, according to KTLA.

Investigators said the man lost control of his SUV and hit a guardrail. As the vehicle hung over the edge of the cliff, the disoriented driver stepped into the path of the tour bus and was struck.

He was conscious and breathing when deputies arrived at the scene. He was taken to an area hospital.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
