BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (April 5, 2016) – A 19-year-old Whitestown man is accused of having sex with a 12-year-old girl.

Jacob Bryan, 19, Whitestown faces a felony count of child molestation in connection with the case. According to court documents, Bryan had sex with the 12-year-old girl, who was reported missing on Friday night. The girl’s mother contacted police after she dropped her daughter off at a friend’s house and didn't hear from her.

The investigation led police to home in Whitestown where Bryan was staying; court documents said Bryan was homeless and staying with a friend’s parents.

When he was initially approached by police, Bryan said he didn’t know anything about the girl, court documents said. Investigators later found surveillance video from Lebanon Memorial Park that showed the girl getting into Bryan’s car.

When police returned to the home where Bryan was staying, they found the 12-year-old upstairs. The girl denied having sex with Bryan, court documents said, but Bryan told investigators that they “ended up having sex” in the home.

Police said the two met on Facebook and communicated through instant messaging.

Bryan was being held in the Boone County Jail. His trial is scheduled for July.
