KOKOMO, Ind. (April 11, 2016) – A Kokomo photographer captured beautiful yet heartbreaking photos of fallen Howard County deputy Carl Koontz’s 8-month-old son Noah.

According to photographer Sharayah Sanders at Little Neighbor Studio, Carl’s wife Kassie asked her to take some photos of Noah with some of Carl’s things as a way to honor him.

“I’ve been friends with Kassie for several years, and I’m honored that I could help preserve these memories for her and Noah. While this photoshoot was bittersweet, Noah was an absolute joy to photograph. He has a strong mother and a loving family to keep his father’s memory alive,” Sanders says.

Deputy Koontz was fatally shot while serving a warrant in Russiaville on March 20.
