(April 16, 2016) — Carl Edwards led a strong team with a second-straight pole, as his Joe Gibbs Racing squad took four of the top five qualifying spots for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Edwards has won the pole twice before at Bristol in his Sprint Cup career, ultimately finishing 1st in 2008 and 2nd in 2011.

JGR teammate Matt Kenseth will start beside Edwards on the front row, qualifying second. Joey Logano of Team Penske will start third, followed by Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch.

Busch hopes to continue a stellar month, as he has won both Sprint Cup April races (in Martinsville on April 3 and in Texas on April 9).

The Food City 500 will be broadcast Sunday April 17 at 1:00 p.m. on FOX59.
