(April 15, 2016) – The founder of Indianapolis’ most well-known modeling agency died this week at the age of 89.

Helen Wells, a mother of five and an Indiana University graduate, formed the Helen Wells Agency in 1980. She died surrounded by loved ones Thursday afternoon, according to the agency’s Facebook page.

“The loss is deeply felt by many, but Helen said many times over the years that she wanted to be remembered in celebration, not tears,” the post said. “In that spirit, wherever you are tonight, please take a moment to celebrate a truly beautiful woman.

“Thank you, Helen, for everything you have given us. We will miss you.”

She is survived by five children, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
