MOORESVILLE, Ind. (April 15, 2016) – Twelve years ago, a 24-year-old Morgan County woman was found dead after a fire that was set to cover up a violent crime.

Now investigators in Morgan County are trying to find the person responsible for killing her. On April 15, 2004, investigators discovered Ronli Ratliff’s body inside a home at 5354 Dayhuff Rd. in Mooresville. Crews were called to the home in response to a fire.

Investigators said the evidence showed the fire was set after Ratliff died to cover the killer’s tracks. The case is currently being investigated by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office as a cold case.

Her family told our sister station in 2015 that they believed she knew her killer although investigators haven’t developed a motive in the case.
