HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (April 15, 2016) – A driver was killed in a crash in Hamilton County Friday morning.

The two-car crash occurred at 8:53 a.m. at the intersection of 206th Street and Mule Barn Road, northwest of Westfield.

An initial report by crash investigators indicates a gray Mercury Sable driven by Travis Correll, 30 of Peru, Indiana, was travelling eastbound on 206th Street. A green Honda CR-V driven by Patricia Douglass, 52 of Westfield, was northbound on Mule Barn Road. According to witness statements, the Sable failed to stop at the stop sign on 206th Street and struck the Honda on the driver’s side causing both vehicles to leave the road and come to rest on the northeast corner of the intersection. No one was ejected or trapped during the crash.

Douglass was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

Correll was treated by medics and released at the scene. One passenger in Correll’s vehicle was taken by air ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment of pain and other injuries while a juvenile passenger was transported by family members to Riley Hospital for a check.

As in all fatal and serious injuries crashes, tests were conducted to determine if alcohol or drugs may have been involved in the crash. Toxicology results are pending.

This incident remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team. Anyone with information should contact the team at 317-773-1282.
