JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (April 18, 2016)– A man was sentenced Monday in the rape of a 71-year-old Greenwood woman.

Ira Link was sentenced to 63 years in jail. Last May, Link attacked the woman at her home while wearing a mask. She was beaten, raped and repeatedly threatened.

Link previously served more than 20 years in Indiana prisons for his 1993 convictions on two counts of child molestation.

He was released from custody June 6, 2014, and registered five days later with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office as a sexually violent predator.

Link reportedly confessed the rape to his mother and tried to kill himself.
