MEMPHIS, Tenn. (April 19, 2016) – A FedEx employee ended up shipping himself from Tennessee to Texas last week.

The employee was loading a plane at the Memphis hub for an overnight shipment when he fell asleep. He didn’t wake up until just before the plane landed in Lubbock, Texas, on Friday morning, reports WREG.

He startled the pilot and crew when he started banging on the cabin door. After explaining the situation, the crew directed him to a jump seat for the landing. Investigators called it an accident and said the employee wasn’t arrested or charged.

In a statement, FedEx said there was no danger to its employees or cargo. The employee, who was not identified, was released to the custody of FedEx.
