Man in serious condition after shooting on west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Police say a person was shot Monday evening on the west side of Indianapolis.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of Panama Avenue, north of the Indianapolis International Airport, just before 8 p.m. on a report of a person shot.

A man was found shot multiple times and transported to Eskenazi Health in serious condition. He was awake and breathing while en route to the hospital. Police say there was a woman at the scene suffering from a possible overdose.
