Brief warm up before a cold front arrives this afternoon

Happy Saturday! Our weekend is starting off warm and dry but as a cold front moves through today spotty showers will develop.

Temperatures are already in the mid 50s to low 60s this morning and we have a warm afternoon on the way. Highs will top out near 80 around 2pm out ahead of the front.

Behind the front cooler air will move in for the afternoon with breezy northwesterly winds. As the front slides south through the state today a spotty shower is possible, although most areas will enjoy a mix of sun & clouds.

The front will move into southern Indiana this evening sparking off rain and thunderstorms.

Some of the storms could become severe with large hail and damaging winds the main concerns. A slight risk of severe storms exists south of Indianapolis in the highlighted area.
