ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana State Police say at least one person threw items off of the County Road 19 overpass late Friday night, causing damage to cars.

Troopers recovered several items from the scene to include chunks of concrete, a white mail box, and a gallon container of windshield washer fluid. They were thrown from the overpass onto the Indiana Toll Road in Bristol.

Police say they responded to the toll road just before midnight after reports of vehicles being damaged by items thrown from the overpass.

Troopers found four vehicles that had damage. A 17-year-old was injured in the incident. That juvenile was a passenger in one of the vehicles and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.

Detective Mike Robinson says the person or persons involved in this incident could face level 5 felony charges for overpass mischief.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Indiana State Police Toll Road Post at 574-206-2931.
