YORKTOWN, Ind. - A housekeeper is in jail after police say she helped clean out her boss's home.
61-year-old Judy Green was helping clean a house for a woman in Yorktown. Back in March, the house was burglarized. A thief broke in through the basement window and stole jewelry, cash, and a gun.
The homeowner could not think of anyone who would steal from her. However, Yorktown police investigator Brooke Routh knew it had to be someone she knew since the burglary happened when the resident was in the hospital for a pre-scheduled procedure. The thief also knew exactly where everything valuable was.
"Based on the items that were taken it just seemed like it had to be somebody, you know, that was familiar with her home," said Routh.
The victim later found some of her stolen items being sold online so she set up a meeting with the seller and discovered it was her cleaning lady's relative.
Police eventually arrested Green, her grandson Jeremy Thompson, and his then girlfriend Jessica Jones. Routh said all three conspired to pull off the burglary with Green contacting the victim several times to make sure she was still at the hospital.
"She was in the car the entire time as well. Like waiting and pointed out the house and actually showed them exactly where it was."
Now police are following leads at pawn shops in Fort Wayne in hopes of finding some of the stolen items.
